Chesapeake officials said that Elbow Road between Chesapeake and Virginia Beach will be closed for 10 months due to a bridge replacement near Stumpy Lake — drivers must use alternate routes like Lynnhaven Parkway and Indian River Road.

Virginia Beach Public Works noted that access to the pier at Stumpy Lake will remain open during the project.

Regional transit leaders met Tuesday at a State of Transit event hosted by Hampton Roads Transit to discuss the future of public transportation across Hampton Roads—key issues included safety, bus frequency for ADA passengers, and a looming federal funding expiration.

Leaders plan to ask Congress for $138 billion for transit and an additional $130 billion for rail.
