Chesapeake City Council is set to vote today at 6:30 p.m. on a battery energy storage project for the Mill Stone Energy Center (located at 1912 Centerville Turnpike South near the Woodard's Mill neighborhood); residents worry about school safety and emergency planning if the project is approved.
The Virginia Department of Health reported 37 cyclosporiasis cases as of July 4 but said these numbers do not indicate an outbreak; weekly case counts will be posted online starting July 20.
