Chesapeake police and firefighters rescued a resident from an apartment fire early Tuesday morning in the Greenbrier area—police found the person in a medical emergency amid smoke just after 5:40 a.m. as the building’s sprinkler system contained the blaze—and firefighters transported the patient to a local hospital with no other apartments affected.
