The Historical Village at Dismal Swamp opened Thursday morning at 5221 Glencoe Street along the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail after a ribbon-cutting ceremony, featuring exhibits that honor Indigenous peoples, freedom seekers and the renovated 1903 Cornland School.

Newport News Shipbuilding will deliver six Virginia-class submarines and build module sections for Columbia-class submarines under a nearly $77 billion Navy deal that secured local jobs through 2038.
