Virginia launched Switch Together today, a group-buying program for solar installations partnering with nonprofit Solar United Neighbors to lower costs.

Homeowners can save (about $1,500–$2,000 each year) and must sign up by Oct. 15 in most areas (Richmond enrollment extends until November).

The IRS launched its Automatic Exemption from Penalty program this month; it automatically waives penalties for taxpayers who filed and paid on time for three years and applies to returns for the 2025 tax year (qualifying taxpayers will receive a notice of the waiver).
