  • Dominion Energy said a fault in an underground cable near Todds Lane caused outages for about 4,800 Hampton Roads customers on Tuesday morning—crews restored power quickly to 3,300 customers and to the remaining 1,500 later on Tuesday, while energy officials advised residents to use cooling centers and drink water if power is lost during extreme heat.  13 News Now

  • Chesapeake police and Virginia State Police issued a Critically Missing Adult Alert for 56-year-old Ronald James Vann after he was last seen on foot around 1:44 p.m. June 21 at Greenbrier Towing and Recovery on McCloud Road—Vann is 6'4 with brown hair, brown eyes, and a grim reaper tattoo on his right shoulder, and his disappearance poses a risk to his safety.  13 News Now

  • Chesapeake city officials reported that South Battlefield Boulevard is closed in both directions at Great Bridge Bridge due to a heat-related malfunction late Tuesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.—fire crews are cooling the bridge with water and said the closure will last for an extended period.  3 WTKR
