- ➤ Chesapeake police served a warrant for felony DUI manslaughter to Victoria Pipkin, who on Tuesday night drove a van that struck a stopped car on Military Highway, causing one death and hospitalizing two others — she was released before the warrant was served on Wednesday. 3 WTKR

- ➤ Chesapeake residents raised safety concerns at a community meeting at Hickory High School when a local parent said stray bullets hit her home and a friend's truck. City leaders and police proposed a measure to ban shooting across property boundaries — the City Council will review the change next week. 3 WTKR
- ➤ Chesapeake City Council voted unanimously 7 to 0 on Tuesday to block rezoning for a proposed 350,000 square foot data center near the Etheridge neighborhood. Residents had raised concerns over increased utility bills, noise and quality of life — a reaction that led the council to move up its vote from the planned August session. 13 News Now
