Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake has closed its grounds for general visits and will host only limited seasonal events — including Christmas, strawberry, and pumpkin activities — effective immediately due to increased local permitting and health restrictions.

The farm acknowledged decades of community support while adjusting its operations.

The DeLong Company broke ground on its new agricultural intermodal export facility in Portsmouth on May 29th — the project will have 15,000 metric tons of storage, support truck and rail transport, and handle up to 20,000 grain-filled containers with operations set for late 2025 to early 2026. The venture is expected to create local jobs and improve export logistics for farmers in the region.
