  • Drive Safe Hampton Roads launches its 757 Sober Ride campaign — free rides up to $15 are offered for anyone traveling to or from Hampton Roads for Cinco de Mayo. The promo code will drop May 5 at 6 p.m. and rides will be available via the Lyft app until 3 a.m. Tuesday — users are urged to book only when ready to ride.  13 News Now

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday at around 1:16 p.m., firefighters responded to an accidental garage fire on the 400 block of Broad Bend Circle in Chesapeake’s River Walk section that displaced two adults + three dogs and a tortoise, and the fire was under control by 1:40 p.m. as all residents had safely left.  13 News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • 42-year-old Deric Lee Jr. pleaded not guilty on Friday in court for shooting 63-year-old Regina Banks, an event that sparked a multi-city car chase through Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth—he was arrested after crashing his car on Fawkes Street and now faces charges including second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  13 News Now
