ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Chesapeake firefighters battled a residential fire on the 1200 block of Shillelagh Road on Sunday morning—arriving at 8:30 a.m. after citizens reported smoke and flames—and quickly controlled the blaze with no injuries as investigators remained on scene to determine the cause.  13 News Now

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Crews in Chesapeake broke ground on a new manufacturing facility for LS Greenlink Monday — the project covers nearly 100 acres, will include a 750,000 square foot building with a tower over 600 feet tall, and is expected to create more than 300 jobs. Governor Glenn Youngkin, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and the mayor of Chesapeake attended the event, and the facility will be completed in 2027.  3 WTKR

  • Virginia students are preparing for state tests while school counselor Rebecca Lendyak-McMahon advises parents and kids to watch for anxiety signs like headaches, stomachaches and shakiness. She recommends calming techniques such as deep breathing, a healthy meal, rest and practice with sample questions—steps that can boost confidence on test day.  13 News Now

  • Portsmouth mother Elizabeth Ripley founded the MLW Movement: Virginia Fentanyl Awareness (in honor of her son Michael who died in September 2021) after sharing her grief on National Fentanyl Awareness Day.
