  • Police identified the body found in a Chesapeake pond near the Kroger behind Battlefield Boulevard North and I-64 on Sunday as Sean Stogsdill, 38 — he was reported missing a day earlier and details of his death remain under investigation.  3 WTKR
  • Chesapeake police investigated a body found in a pond near Woodlake Drive and Sentinel Drive on April 13th and identified the victim as Sean Stogsdill with the cause of death pending.  13 News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • Virginia's updated health dashboards now show a 50% drop in maternal deaths from 2021 to 2024—cutting rates from 49.2 to 24.5 per 100,000 live births. Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced the upgrades on Thursday as part of his effort to improve data on pregnancy and child health—adding more metrics on preterm births, infant mortality, and prenatal care.  13 News Now
