- ➤ On Thursday, a new Chesapeake VA clinic held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with dozens of veterans attending as VA Secretary Doug Collins spoke about plans to ramp up staffing—starting with less than full staff—to reach full capacity by January 2026. The 196,000 square-foot facility includes a pharmacy and radiology services and will begin seeing patients April 17. 3 WTKR
- ➤ A program that helps Virginia Military families pay for college is facing a funding challenge after lawmakers did not vote on a proposed amendment on April 2, leaving military spouse Kayla Owen and other supporters worried about continued funding. Gov. Youngkin has proposed using $120 million from surplus funds to help run the program past the 2025-2026 school year — a move that supporters call necessary — as the political fight continues. 3 WTKR
